Michael Oelgeschlaeger The two saxophonists complement each other very well. The music is inviting and accessible and at the same time challenging, because the the duo has so much to offer.

John Cratchley An old and young Buddhist monk undertake a journey...at a raging river crossing they encounter an old woman unable to cross...the old Monk picks her up and carries her across.
They continue their journey but the young Monk is troubled...after many miles travelled in anguish the young Monk confronts the old Monk; "why did you pick up the old woman and carry her when our teachings expressly forbid it?" They continue in silence...finally, the old Monk addresses the young; "put down the old woman. I did, many miles ago"

about

"Wright’s penetrating attack stands out throughout, providing an effective foil for Parker’s more serpentine phrasing. One thinks here of Parker’s duo outings with reed players like Steve Lacy, Anthony Braxton, Wolfgang Fuchs, or Lol Coxhill and Wright certainly holds his own." - Michael Rosenstein, Point of Departure

Fascinating combination of two uncompromising saxophonists. Seymour Wright grew up listening to Evan Parker's radical reshaping of the saxophone and both develops and deconstructs it in his own playing. Together, the two interrupt and augment each other incessantly, creating tight spirals of difference and similarity that crackle with ideas and energy.
